Equality and Diversity Policy
- Board Members
Members of the Board have corporate responsibility for ensuring that RBH complies with all statutory and administrative requirements governing the use of public funds. In discharging their duties Board Members will ensure that RBH delivers all services with due regard to the need to avoid any form of discrimination, and promotes equality and diversity and good race relations.
The Board should consist of members broadly reflecting the local population it serves. Therefore, the Board will be mindful of gender, race and age when selecting independent members, and actively seek to recruit board members that will ensure the Board is balanced in terms of gender, age and race when a vacancy occurs.
RBH will seek tenant board member candidates who reflect the diversity of the community.
RBH will provide comprehensive training for all board members. This will include training to raise cultural awareness and understanding of the needs of clients from different backgrounds.
